FAQ

Are you the Small Business Administration (SBA)?

No, we are not the Small Business Administration and do not provide funding through our offices.  However, we are part of a nationwide network of SBDCs to deliver SBA resources locally.

I want to start a business, where do I start?

Sign up for the next Starting a Small Business: The First Steps workshop.  This workshop will provide you with a lot of information on some things to do before you 'open your doors.'  Check out our training event calendar.

Also, you will need to COMPLETE and SUBMIT an Evaluating Your Business Idea packet to sbdc@mssu.edu prior to making an appointment with a business consultant.

I am in business, where do I start?

Call our office or complete our online request for service.  We will ask you about your business, the area(s) of assistance you are seeking and have a business consultant schedule an appointment with you.

Am I able to walk-in without an appointment?

To ensure we are available to meet with you, we recommend that you call to make an appointment to meet with one of our business consultants or register for a workshop to get a basic understanding of our services and what we offer.  You may contact us by signing up through our e-center or complete the contact form.

Is there a fee for your service?

Our one-on-one, education-based consulting is available at no charge to our clients, existing businesses requesting assistance, and those interested in starting a business.  We also offer workshops, at an affordable price, that are available to the public and our clients.
